English...
First of all, it is important to distinguish British English from American English. In addition to pronunciation, other subtleties make the difference between the 2, in terms of ortograph notably (color/colour ; organize/organise etc)
The population in the United States is five times bigger than United Kingdom: it is therefore normal that there are more American English speakers than British speakers.
Apart from these two countries, English is also the official language in Australia, but also in Canada, New Zealand, India and South Africa for example (53 countries in total).
It reaches a total of 400 million speakers throughout the world and thus ranks 3rd in the ranking of the most internationally spoken languages.
English is also the first language used in the business world.
